Next Steps of O’Connor Foundation, located in Willow Springs, IL offers an activity based therapy program with the newest and innovative equipment in a positive environment to maximize the potential of all our patients. We are an outpatient, non-profit organization that is dedicated to the practice of providing advanced therapeutic options for individuals suffering from spinal cord injuries and other neurological deficits such as multiple sclerosis, traumatic brain injury and stroke.
Our facility offers two separate programs. In the Adaptive Fitness and Wellness program, your plan of care focuses on sessions directed by staff trainers to improve overall quality of life through aggressive, exercise-based activities focusing primarily on locomotor training. The sessions for this program are typically scheduled for 2-hour time slots, two to three times per week. In addition, it is possible your sessions may include activities that have an additional fee. Activities such as Lokomat, Exoskeleton, NMES, FES, and Therastride will cost extra.
In the functional Rehabilitation Program, our staff of Physical Therapists will establish the plan of care to address progress towards functional rehabilitation goals as well as maintain oversight and evaluation of each session. The sessions can be scheduled as 45 minute, 1 hour or 1.5 hour appointments, two to three times a week.
At the current time, Next Steps is a preferred provider for the Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO Network and Medicare.
When the current schedule allows for intake of a new client, an initial evaluation will be scheduled with one of our staff members based on the program you choose to enroll in. For enrollment in the functional rehabilitation program, a current prescription for “Physical Therapy evaluate and treat” and a Bone Density Scan (DXA) are required. For enrollment in the Adaptive Fitness and Wellness program, you will need to provide authorization from your physician to participate in an aggressive exercise program. Based on your initial evaluation, a Plan of Care will be developed that is most appropriate for you along with a recommendation for the frequency and duration of your sessions.
